The wait is finally over, it’s time to come out to Coalville and pick up your trailer! While you’re in town, why not make a trip out of it and indulge yourself in some world-class fun? Coalville is a mere 25-minutes from world-renowned Park City, Utah. The modern mountain town is overflowing with award-winning dining, unparalleled outdoor adventure, and world-class lodging.

With Park City offering so much, we’re breaking it down and sharing our top recommendations. Also, just in case you don’t have time to visit Park City, we’ll give you our top recommendations of things to do, restaurants to eat at, and places to stay right here in Coalville.

Park City

Lodging

Marriott Mountainside's pool and hotel accomadations

Marriott's MountainSide Resort

If you are looking for something lively and in the heart of historic “Old Town” Park City, we recommend Marriott’s MountainSide Resort. Situated downtown, enjoy easy access to Main Street’s boutique shops, outdoor brand stores, top-notch restaurants, and art galleries. If you’re looking for an elevated experience (literally & figuratively), stay at The St. Regis, Deer Valley. Nestled amongst the Wasatch mountains, it offers convenient ski-in / ski-out access in the winter months and in the warmer months, pristine mountain biking and hiking trails. What’s a mountain resort without a day spa and plethora of dining options? The St. Regis has got you covered there too.

Dining

Five5eeds

No matter what kind of cuisine you're drawn to, you’ll find something to love in Park City's assortment of cafes, restaurants, bars, and distilleries. To get your morning started right, check out Five5eeds or Harvest for killer coffee and even better food. Local tip: The Buddha Bowl of Goodness at Harvest is mouth-wateringly delicious!

Hungry for lunch? Main Street in Park City offers an overwhelming number of options. We don’t suggest leaving without eating at No Name Saloon’s rooftop patio. Snow or shine, the patio is open year-round with overhead heaters and heated floors. Main Street is also home of Utah’s first brewery, Wasatch Brewery. They brew some of the tastiest (and in their terms naughtiest) beers in Northern Utah and it's a must-taste before heading back home.

From Main Street to mountaintop, Park City is guaranteed to give you a dining experience you won’t forget. For a casual dining experience, consider popping into the NoName Saloon for burgers & wings on their rooftop or The Spur Bar & Grill where there’s live music every night. High West Saloon offers a unique experience where they’ll pair your food selection with one of their premium whiskeys.

The Riverhorse on Main

If you are looking to splurge, make a reservation at The Riverhorse on Main which is regarded as one of the top restaurants in the nation. Alternatively, book a prix-fixe meal at The Nelson Cottage, or enjoy locally sourced small plates at Handle.

Activities

If one thing is for sure in Park City, it’s that you’ll never be at a loss of things to do. With hundreds of miles of mountain biking trails, access to the world’s most renowned ski resorts, an abundance of fly fishing pockets, and famous festivals, this area provides for fun all year long.

Park City Mountain Resort

Park City is best known for its world-class ski resorts & winter recreation. If you’re picking up your pod when the snow is falling, be sure to visit Park City Mountain Resort. PCMR became the largest destination ski resort in the country when Vail Resorts merged two side-by-side Park City skiing spots - Park City & The Canyons. If hitting the slopes isn’t your thing, don’t worry, there are still plenty of things to do. Check out dog sledding, snowmobiling, and tubing! If the timing is right, snag yourself some tickets to a show during the Sundance Film Festival, the largest and most celebrated film festival in the United States. It’s held every January in Park City.

Mountain Biking at Park City Mountain Resort

The fun doesn’t stop when the snow stops falling. When the snow melts away, it reveals hundreds of miles of mountain biking and hiking trails. Our favorite hike is to Bloods Lake near Park City. There is an awesome rope swing at the lake, so remember to bring your swimsuit! Prefer wheels to boots? Rent a bike from Jans Mountain Outfitters and bike over to Armstrong Trail for an unforgettable single-track experience. There are plenty of activity options off the mountain as well. Discover hidden fly fishing pockets by booking a day with a skilled guide or get your toes wet & heart pumping on a white water rafting trip down the Weber River.

Main Street in Park City

No matter what month you are here, you can never go wrong exploring the boutiques, art galleries, brand name stores, restaurants, bars, and gift shops on Main Street in Park City. Utah is home to the site of the 2002 Winter Olympics. The Olympic Ski Park is open for year-round fun including zip-lining, XC skiing, park tours where you can see Olympic Bobsledders in action, and aquatic shows where Olympic skiers do flips & tricks into a pool.

Coalville

Lodging

If you are looking to stay local and take it easy on your wallet, stay at the Best Western Holiday Hills. It’s located just two minutes away from our pickup location so you can wake up and have your brand new trailer hooked up to your vehicle in the blink of time.

Denise's Home Plate

Dining

If you're craving traditional American or Mexican food, head over to Polar King Drive-Inn for a quick breakfast. For lunch, be sure to visit Denise’s Home Plate, a local favorite here in Coalville, and frequented often by the Escapod team! Don’t miss their home-baked pastries! For dinner, snag a pizza from Annie B’s - we recommend the BBQ Chicken pizza. Their salads make for an excellent accompaniment as well.

Echo Reservoir

Activities

If a trip into Park City is a stretch, consider simply spending a day at Echo Reservoir in Coalville. Pick up some floaties at the local grocery store & enjoy a cool dip in the water before picking up your pod. There is also a rail-trail that runs the whole length of Echo, so you can enjoy a nice stroll or bike ride before jumping in!

Northern Utah is one of the world’s top tourist destinations for a reason. No matter what you choose to do, where you choose to stay, or where you choose to dine, you’re going to have the time of your life. You’ll also be leaving with your Escapod in tow, so you really can’t go wrong!
